Edinburgh International Fashion Festival

Reading extracts from a collaboration with photographer, Nick Knight, Amanda Harlech entranced with a talk centred on three dramatic ‘flashpoints’ in her career as muse and core collaborator to John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel.

The Fashion Festival collaborated with the Edinburgh Art Festival to stage a dramatic pop-up fashion performance showcasing a selection of PLEATS PLEASE Issey Miyake.

A sensory feast, this exhibition presented fashion as art, one of the vital elements of the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival.

With supporters that include Vivienne Westwood, Kate Moss, Siouxsie Sioux, Stephen Jones, Nick Rhodes, Alison Mosshart, Gareth Pugh, Judy Blame, Suzanne Bartsch, Kate Nash and Jo Wood, Pam Hogg is widely regarded as one of the most exciting designers working today.

A collaborative artwork between celebrated fashion designer, Kostas Murkudis and leading expert smell researcher/artist, Sissel Tolaas, commissioned specifically for the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival.

Imagined as a dark fairy tale, this dramatic runway show by celebrated young Danish fashion brand, Borcher, closed the 2012 festival, showcasing the most striking pieces from their recent collections.

Opening EIFF 2012 was Bebaroque, an award winning Scottish fashion label created by Chloe Patience and Mhairi McNicol.

Luxury designer, consultant and creative director Aimee McWilliams presented a diverse archive showcase that embodied the multiple facets of her past work, from designs for couture houses in Paris to one-off pieces commissioned by private boutiques.

An exhibition of nine photographic and accompanying olfactory portraits, this exhibition was the conceptual creation of master perfumer, Tammy Frazer (founder of Frazer Parfum) in collaboration with celebrated South African fashion photographer, Brett Rubin.
